It’s been a big start to the year for me musically speaking! Since Jan 1 I’ve been serenaded by Nick Cave, emotionally moved by Mumford & Sons, and next on my calendar is the super fun Laneway Festival!! Laneway as always will be a swath of well-dressed hipsters gathering to enjoy music hopefully in the sunshine.

The @aceyaceyeboutique concept was born from a hobby I personally had of recycling my wardrobe. It provoked a curiosity in me that I had for years...Should I leave TV & do this full time? I also love looking at all the celebrity Halloween parties in the USA on social media, like that of Heidi Klum who is a confessed Halloween addict. Every year Heidi throws an over the top soiree with a guest list that matches the Oscars, and god it looks like a blast. Heidi’s costumes are a complete transformation, be it an old lady, skinless human or even Michael Jackson from Thriller.

After spending a few days shopping & people watching in LA I thought it high time for a bit of culture! I adore the Getty LA, so took the family along Sunset Blvd, through Beverley Hills, past Queen Bey’s palace (yes it was pointed out by our uber driver) to the magical Getty Centre, where to my surprise and delight I not only got to see this architectural and design wonderland resplendent with garden & view, but fate shone with a fashion photography exhibition beckoning me; ICONS OF STYLE: A CENTURY OF FASHION, 1911-2011.

Well I’m back!!! It’s been a wild ride home from New York via Melbourne to Sydney. Jet-lag is the worst!! It’s almost like a weird hung-over feeling with a bit of out-of-body imbalance all happening at once!! After travelling for two weeks I think the fatigue & timezones have got the better of me….

I’m so excited!!! We’ve just arrived in NYC & the biggest dilemma I’m faced with is whether to curl up in bed after a long flight from LA or do I just run out to the streets now make the most of every second!!! Just looking out my hotel window energises me beyond what any nap could offer, that can wait til I’m back in Sydney!!

Tomorrow I’m travelling to a mysterious Texan town named Marfa, known not for its Texan BBQ but instead it’s art scene! It’s a small desert city in West Texas & is becoming more & more known across the globe as an arts hub. Movies such as Giant (1954) & No Country For Old Men (2007) have used this amazing place as their backdrop.

The family & I are headed overseas for some well deserved time together, traversing the USA from LA on the West Coast to the East and New York City!!
It’s at least a year since I’ve experienced the luxury of existing as a tourist, and in a fashion sense it’s never been easier to blend in at your destination. Well this week I’m looking down the barrel of another birthday!! I’m not going disclose the number…but I’m excited!!! Well it’s been and gone and the Royal Wedding of Harry & Meghan didn’t disappoint. Marrying into a family whose identity demands the effacement of your own is a tricky venture in the most straightforward of circumstances. Well it’s been an amazing month so far around the globe and we’re only just past the half way mark of May!!
