PERFECT PACKING PICKS :)
Posted on
Lucky us :) It’s only a month out to the Easter holiday break & hasn’t that come around quickly!
Of course this year yet again my family are off to Byron Bay for the annual Bluesfest, and although we decided to go along as it was announced as the last one ever, we now know it isn’t and that the festival will be returning next year, a great result for a Byron and music institution that we all love.
So that’s my Easter, what’s planned for yours? If it involves travel there will come a time in the lead up when you need to start thinking about packing for the trip so I have compiled a few tips from my past experience so that you will look good and travel lite!! First, think through your itinerary. Opt for items that can be mixed and matched. And resist the urge to bring anything “just in case”—excessive amounts of underwear, an extra set of pj’s, those heels you’ve been saving for a special occasion… Odds are you won’t end up wearing then, and it’s not worth the extra weight. I have a chronic problem with the ’just in case’ item, and this year I’ve promised myself I’m going to kick back and take carry on only!
They say that a couple of easy ways to look at your packing are to:
1. Commit to a colour palette - if you select a colour palette that will complement one another you might find you don’t need as many packed pieces.
2. Pick a packing method- are you are folder or a roller?? I’m a folder but apparently rolling is the way to go. Less creases and maximises space- I will definitely give this a go, I might be able to fit my gum boots easier for the festival.
3. Be organised with your extras- belts, chargers, toiletries are so easy to overdo, be smart about it!!
